One thing I’ve realized in my time studying the skin and being an esthetician is that everyone is different. You can certainly categorize different skin conditions, but everyone has a different set of intrinsic and extrinsic factors that are impacting the skin. I have found my greatest ability to deliver results in clients who I get to know. I don’t have to know your dog’s name and your dress size… but if I know you hike with that dog every weekend and you have a weakness for mocha lattes I can tell a lot more about how successful your treatments will be. My suggestion is to open up to your skin therapist. If you are really interested and vested in a healthy complexion there is more than purchasing a new bottle of creme on your to do list. Get an esthetician who you like and get to know each other. You may be surprised on how opening up the conversation can lead to great suggestions on a holistic level. We estheticians are professionals who can and want to help our clients.
